Message from the Chairperson
Dear Parents and Students
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
Since its inception in 1990, the Singapore Sikh Education Foundation (SSEF) has been the cornerstone of Punjabi language education in Singapore. In partnership with the Board for the Teaching and Testing of South Asian Languages (BTTSAL), SSEF has nurtured generations of bilingual Sikh/Punjabi students with a comprehensive and well-structured Punjabi language programme.
While there have been changes in leadership, staff, and student body, our core mission of delivering high quality, up-to-date and relevant education has remained steadfast. Our leaders have continuously brought fresh perspectives, skills, and invaluable connections, strengthening SSEF and its community ties.
At SSEF, we are dedicated to positively impacting every student’s life, fostering lifelong learners equipped with critical thinking skills and ingrained Sikh values. The Chardi Kala spirit remains a key anchor in driving our students to achieving high order skills, inspiring them to strive for excellence and creating a holistic development within Singapore’s unique context.
As we move forward in a post-Covid 19 environment, in a world that is highly volatile, uncertain, and ambiguous, we will need to nurture students who are resilient and adaptable. We are committed to preparing our students to take on new challenges in a constantly changing landscape in Singapore and beyond, through exemplary teaching, mentorship, and strong community support. Our aim is to cultivate individuals ready to face new challenges with strength and determination.
The educational landscape is evolving, driven by new technologies and learning models, such as blended and hybrid learning. Despite these changes, our unwavering commitment to excellence of academic rigour remains unchanged. We are dedicated to equipping our students, from the youngest in kindergarten to those approaching A-level examinations, with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in national assessments and to thrive in the demanding arena of higher education.
Our success is a testament to the “whole-of-society” approach, collaborating closely with parents, alumni, and the wider community. This collective effort is crucial as we strive to elevate our support for students, recognising education as the fundamental pillar of success in society.
As we look ahead, SSEF is excited to continue this journey of excellence, resilience, and community engagement. Together, we will build a brighter future for our students.
