The Singapore Sikh Education Foundation is blessed to have the support of all the Sikh institutions in Singapore to support the learning experiences of our children. Some of our key partners include:
Young Sikh Association (YSA) – Singapore
Together with YSA, SSEF organised the Sewa Day Initiative that was held on 10 August 2019. About 100 secondary school students from the Singapore Sikh Education Foundation (SSEF), and volunteers from the Sikh Welfare Council (SIWEC), Sikh Sewaks Singapore and YSA came together to spend some time with families under the care of the Marine Parade Family Service Centre.
A Facebook post by YSA on our students’ experiences can be viewed through the followng Face book post:
Sikh Welfare Council (SIWEC)
SIWEC has supported the students on the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) to fund the Punjabi Language education. Students on FAS are provided with free books and uniforms, waiver of monthly fees as well as payment for transport. SIWEC has also worked closely with SSEF to finance the Academic Excellence Programme (AEP) where an Education Project Officer (EPO) follows up with the learning needs of pupils in mainstream schools.
Through the EPO, classes have also been organised for P6 pupils to provide support prior to the national examinations. In addition, motivation talks have been organised for graduating Secondary pupils. The EPO continues to engage tutors to close the learning gaps of identified students.
Singapore Khalsa Association (SKA)
SSEF has over the last few years worked closely with SKA to organise the annual Vesakhi Mela cum Sports Carnival. All our children, including those from Kindergartens are involved in a variety of cultural and sporting activities at SKA.
